What’s Your Game Plan?

November 27

The Thanksgiving holiday has passed and so has the tasty food and desserts. What’s your game plan for your nutrition and fitness for the rest of the year?

Do you want to maintain? Or, do you want to see improvement? If you want to see improvement, your actions must meet that expectation. You’ll have to make time for exercise and eat high quality protein, fat and carbs (PFC), eat every 3-4 hours and eat five to six times a day.

If you want to maintain where your body is currently at, you’ll still have to put in the effort, but your actions won’t have to be as high. You may be able to skip a few days of exercise and have a few extra “off plan” meals. But, you’ll still need to eat on plan as much as possible with the right PFC, every 3-4 hours, five to six times a day.

Keep stress to a minimum, drink plenty of water and get enough rest. No matter your game plan, if you know you’re going to a party, stay on plan for all meals leading up to that time. Make sure to follow up with a small balanced meal within 3-4 hours of the “off plan” meal.

Your Nutrition Is An Investment

I don’t consider buying FOOD as an expense. I consider it an INVESTMENT in my health.

I buy fruits and veggies that are in season and on sale, same way with protein. I may pay a little more at the check-out to eat higher quality food but, it’s much cheaper in the long run than paying excess medical bills caused by eating unhealthy food.

Do You Stop Going After Your Goal?

2018-04-14T01:08:15-06:00

Sometimes we’re on plan for weeks, eating PFC every 3, exercising four to five times a week, and then bam, life throws us a curve ball. What do you do? Do you stop shooting for your goal? No, you continue on. A baseball player’s goal is to get a hit every time at bat. He doesn’t stop trying to get a hit when thrown a curve ball. He makes adjustments with his swing to get that hit.

We too, must make adjustments. Maybe you’re not on plan for all of your meals, maybe you’re only exercising two days a week. When life settles down, you’re back on plan every day. When confronted with an obstacle, we may have to change our direction but we don’t give up on our goals.

Moderation is Key

It’s unrealistic to be on plan every single day. MODERATION is key as we strive for better health and fighting off disease.
